Cajun Country Perspective with Chef Scott Williams

Chef Scott Williams of T-Dubbs Cajun Country Catering is a laid-back, southern-style chef that we love partnering with for private events. If you haven't heard of Chef Scott or his catering company before, definitely take the time to seek him out as he tends to be a fan favorite at our weddings, especially for the brides and grooms getting married at Race and Religious. We reached out to Chef Scott to talk food and future endeavors.

MHS: What inspired you to start your own business?

SW: My complete adoration of all things food and my ability to make others happy through the food I cook.

MHS: What were you doing before this business?

SW: I have managed and worked in restaurants over the years while maintaining a steady home business doing mostly music related graphic design, which I continue to this day. Art is very much my other creative outlet.

MHS: What is your favorite snack?

SW: Home smoked cashews that my stepmother gives me each Christmas or cheese/charcuterie if I’ve managed to run out of cashews!

MHS: What's your favorite menu item?

SW: One that I’m very proud of, that has the flavor profile that T-Dubb’s originally set out to achieve is my Andouille Crouton with Champagne Parmesan Fondue. It truly does taste as good as it reads!

MHS: What's the best part of owning your business?

SW: Making all decisions that reflect the outcome.

MHS: What's the hardest part of owning your business?

SW: When I’m not working with My House Social, and I’m absolutely not kidding.

MHS: Do you have any new items you're working on for your business?

SW: The creation of new menu items is my favorite part of all of this. I recently tested Bruléed Boconcini Balls with Fennel Pollen and Balsamic Drizzle. Also Smoked Salmon Mousse in Cucumber Cups with Wasabi Pea Dust.

MHS: Do you have any advice for other entrepreneurs running a small business?

SW: Work smarter not harder.
